Carpet Cleaning
    The method of carpet cleaning that Clean Master utilizes is called Hot Water Extraction. We have a truck mounted machine that uses hot water and a wand to spray water into the carpet. This helps to dislodge dirt that is beneath the surface. Immediately the water is sucked up by the vacuum that is part of the wand. The water may contain a degreaser or we may pre-spot for stains but this product is bidegradable, non-toxic and in small concentrations.

 

    There are 3 other methods of professional carpet cleaning. Carpet Shampooing, Dry Powder Method and Bonnet Cleaning. Hot Water Extraction is different because it is the only method that can be classified as "deep cleaning." The others can only be considered  as "light surface cleaning" because they are incapable of removing soil deep in the carpet. Another disadvantage to these types of carpet cleaning is that they leave chemical behind which can lead to allergic reactions in sensitive individuals including children and/or pets.

    One advantage to using Hot Water Extraction is that all the waste product is sucked into a holding tank in our van. This is then discarded at a designated location. With these other carpet cleaning methods the dirty air and humidity are left to recirculate throughout the house. This added humidity makes the drying time of your carpet take longer than with our system.



    The world's largest carpet manufacturer reccomends hot water extraction because their own research shows that it provides the best capability for cleaning.

   It is very important to consider carefully what type of carpet cleaning you choose. Some methods leave residues which allow re-soiling of the carpet to occur faster and defeat the whole purpose of cleaning. Some methods can damage the carpet fibers and shorten the life of your carpet.

     If a carpet is cleaned before it becomes too dirty, the cleaning will be easier and more successful. If the carpet becomes overly soiled, it can result in irreversible damage. It is a common myth that cleaning the carpet before it is absolutely necessary will cause it to get dirty faster. This goes back to the days when the shampoo methods were most common.  Carpet in a normal household should be professionally cleaned every 12 to 18 months depending upon the number of residents, amount and type of activity, and the type of carpeting.
